The day has finally arrived! Courtney is departing the MTC on the 16th and is looking forward to serving for the next 17 months in Colorado. (Freezing temperatures, snow, and all!)
Until she gets in the routine of sending a general letter for me to post, (which is soon I hope), I'm again going to cut and paste parts of her letters she has sent to her sister as well as her parents. Thanks for following along!
Dec. 2
The Elders here are amazing. They have such a high respect for the sister. Most elders hold open doors, give up their seats, and even take your tray when you are done eating. I love it because then I truly feel like a daughter of God!
It is cold here and I like it. There is no snow on the ground. :( It snowed once while our whole district walked up to the temple. It was so beautiful! The snow didn't stay, bummer.
(This next part is Court's response to a situation someone was going through.)
If you're struggling with patience then pray for help. I know He listens because I have prayed so many times here in the MTC and He has always answered my prayers. (She then goes on to talk about Alma 7:23) I hard this little saying about patience, "use it before you lose it."
Dec. 7
It snowed yesterday and today. I love it! But the heater in my dorm is broken so it's so cold inside as it is outside. There is also a bad draft from our window which I sleep by. I have a cold and my companion is sick too.
(Courtney continues about her two companions and some of the health issues they are having. She has been helping them.)
I am learning so much from my companions. I am not complaining because through the service I give them we grow together closer. I guess you could say I am grateful for the opportunity.
Can you believe that in a week I will be in Colorado teaching? I am so excited for many reasons.
*Courtney is able to call home while at the airport so we hopefull have more to share. I'll post her new address when I receive it.
